Lucid Dreaming

The worst part of having good dreams is waking up and realizing they are just dreams. I had posted that on facebook decided the blog i wanted to write today would be about lucid dreaming. Now to start with the most basic question:

What is lucid dreaming?
Well, Lucid Dreaming is when one is dreaming and is aware of the fact you are dreaming and therefore you are able to control the dreams that are taking place.

Treatment for nightmares

 Studies have shown those who suffer from nightmares would benefit from Lucid Dreaming. This is because if those who are suffering from a nightmare will be able to change it due to awareness of the dreaming. 

Milan Colic : An Australian psychologist explored treatment and application of the principal of Lucid Dreaming to patients. According to his studies not ONLY  did the Lucid Dreams help with nightmares it also helped many with depression, self mutilation and having problems at with life.

Long time sense last entry.

It has been a while sense i last actually sat down to write a blog entry. I have been on summer vacation and generally have been busy or just haven't thought about writing a blog. Earlier today, my mom was telling me about how she was finally starting a blog and about how it had always crossed her mind but she could never actually decide what to blog about. So her blog is about parenting as an atheist. In my opinion, i think that is pretty cool. I remember sense i was little her telling me, "If you decide you want to be religious i won't stop you but if you decide you aren't religious that is okay too and i will love you ether way." Anyways, i am really looking forward to reading and fallowing her blog, even knowing that there is a pretty good chance she will mention me in some of her posts it is still going to be interesting to read. :D

American Diets

 The average American diet is full of fatty over processed foods mixed with some greasy fast food.  I was doing a little reading online comparing the average diets with in other countries such as Asia and Europe. A girl who moved to the US from Japan stated after only six months of being in the US she had gained twenty five pounds from eating the average diet. Other contries have smaller portions and healthier foods.

That is the American diet in a nut shell. However, there are many people who do try to eat health food. One of the biggest things i have noticed is in our country we have to much meat in our diets.

 

This is a basic food pyramid (ignore the diet stuff at the bottom) is an Asian food pyramid. It's portions are different than the traditional American food pyramid. BUT how many people actually fallow the food pyramid not many.

Vaulger Display of Fake Plastic People

I am sitting in the living room reading some news articles online while my uncle watches some tv show about fast sports car..."super cars" (according to the show) anyways a commercial was on a few seconds ago about a toddler beauty pageant.  AM i the only one who finds that utterly repulsive that girls at a young age are raised to believe the only way they are beautiful is by caking their face with make up and putting on ridiculous dresses and going on a stage to expose their "talents" on a stage in order to be told they are nothing compared to one girl who wins a crown? That has to be horrible for those girl's once they get older believing they have to try to be prettiest but in the end are nothing compared to somebody else! It is ideas like that , that are damaging girl's self-esteem  and making them feel worthless. It is not only young girls who are exposed to these pressures to be plastic and thin there are advertisements with in the media or social pressures directed tword young boys and men that make them strive to have washboard abs or be thin. There is beauty in everybody. Thin,fat,toned or whatever you are you! People shouldn't let social and media endorsed pressures diminish how they feel about themselves. Will you let yourself fall victim to this disgusting act or will you prove yourself above that and love your self and stop hating your body?

IDOTS!SNAKES!ANDPISSYNESS!OHMY!

What kind of stupid person doesn't put a lid on a snake cage or tank or whatever you want to call it?!?!?!?!? My snake is lose somewhere in my tornado struck bedroom. However i am not home right now so i can not go look for it. It is not my fault that the snake got out. My mother called me to tell me and my step dad said it was MY fault for not making sure the lid was on the tank. IF you are 16 fucking years old you should know how to put a lid on a snakes tank. I was not the last person to hold my snake...my uncle was. I already know my snake isn't strong enough to push of the lid meaning somebody didn't put the lid on. OH goodie i can not wait to go home and get to go search for a snake who is in the middle of shedding. Homeroom 5/5/11

Have you ever noticed some people are oblivious to what is going on with the world and the bigger picture? I am sitting in my homeroom class (obviously) reading over some tumbler posts from a fellow anarchist. A student who is smart, gets good grades and a generally liked student was reading over my shoulder. The post I was reading was regairding the death of Osama bin laden and stated in the post how president gorge w bush had killed 14000-34000 people. He thought it was a joke or something and had no idea bush was the cause of that many deaths. It disgusts me to see people who know nothing about what's going on almost as much as the idiots who were looking for pictures of Osama's dead body!!!

Beauty School

Right now i am looking at beauty schools online that i am considering going to. SO far i am liking the sound of Paul Mitchell. I have decided for sure if i am going to get a license in make up artistry or a dule hair and make up license. I think though if i get a dule license ill have a chance to maybe make a great careeer in the beauty industry. Having both skillls and being spectacular at both isnt a trait that is seen as often as it could be. It makes an artist a much higher value or asset to a salon or where ever the artist is working or even a self owned business.
